Janet is a Signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society. She found a new form of expression in watercolor upon her retirement upon her retirement from the University of Georgia. She also discovered a new world of friends when she began painting weekly with Wonders of Watercolor (WOW), a group of around 15 watercolorists. They learn from each other, critique when asked, and share in each other's successes.
She is a member of the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF, Watkinsville, GA), Bowen Center for the Arts (Dawsonville, GA) and Artisans Village Guild (Eatonton, GA) and a member and officer of the Georgia Watercolor Society.
Her paintings have been accepted into Georgia Watercolor Society shows, including both Member and National Exhibitions. She won second place overall in the Bowen's Critters exhibit, several honors at invitational Plaza Arts Center (Eatonton, GA) shows and was Artist of the Week at the OCAF gallery, followed by a full display of her work at the Oconee County Library.
